2026 ND State High School Championship
Event Rules & Participant Requirements
GENERAL (ALL DISCIPLINES)
- Eye and ear protection required outside parking area at all times
- Unsafe behavior must be reported immediately
- Each squad must have one coach and one scorekeeper
ALL SCORING WILL BE COMPLETED BY QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL FROM ANOTHER TEAM
- No coaching permitted while athlete is actively shooting (in cage or stand)
- Targets called “dead” or “lost” only
- Alleged chipped targets must be confirmed by Team athletes (not coaches/spectators)
- Backup firearm recommended- We will not delay squads due to firearm malfunctions
- National Anthem and opening ceremony at 12:30 Friday and 7:00 Saturday and Sunday
- All awards given at the completion of the day. Reverse run will be used to break any ties.
SPORTING CLAYS (100 TARGETS) Friday June 12
- Shotgun start at 1:00 PM (check-in by 12:30 PM)
- All report pairs (no singles/true pairs)
- Qualified Individual from another team will score
- Practice limited available on skeet fields only starting at 9AM
- Maximum 3 malfunctions allowed per athlete; additional = lost
SKEET (100 TARGETS) Saturday June 13
- Start 7:30 AM (check-in by 7:00 AM)
- Two 25-target rounds per field (100 total – 50 per field)
- Squads will be assigned to fields. Be at the assigned field early as shooting will begin as soon as the previous squad is complete.
- Qualified Individual from next Team up will score
- Squads limited to 5; Multiple team squads assigned for efficiency
- No practice on skeet fields or 5-Stand day of shoot
- 1 malfunction allowed per 25 targets; 2nd = lost
5-STAND (100 TARGETS) Sunday June 14
- Start 7:30 AM (check-in by 7:00 AM)
- 50 targets per round on Main & Youth fields
- Squads limited to 5; blind draw assignments
- Qualified Individual from next Team up will score
- Practice allowed on skeet fields & sporting clays only (none on 5-Stand)
- Maximum 3 malfunctions allowed per athlete; additional = lost
